MICROSOFT:
Bill Gates is co-founder of Microsoft Corporation, the world’s leading provider of software for personal computers. In 1973 Gates entered in Harvard University as a fresh man. In his junior year, Gates dropped out of Harvard to devote his energies full time to Microsoft, company he had started in 1975 with his boyhood friend Paul Allen. Guided by a belief that the personal computer would be a valuable tool on every office desktop and in every home, they began developing software for personal computers.
Bill Gates foresight and vision regarding personal computing have been central to the success of Microsoft and the software industry. Gates played an important role in the technical development of new products. Much of his time is devoted to meeting with customers and staying in contact with Microsoft employees around the world through e-mails.
In 1995 Bill Gates wrote “The Road Ahead”, his vision of where information technology will take society. Bill Gates bid Goodbye to Microsoft on 27 June 2008.
Apple History:
Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs founded Apple Computers in 1976.Both these computer geniuses were considered outcasts in high school. As a kid Stephen Wozniak would become so engrossed in mathematical ponderings that his mother would have to shake him to bring him back to reality. By 1975 he was working at Hewlett-Packard (HP) and helping his friend Steve Jobs design video games
The company’s first computer Apple 1 was a fairly simple machine. It was nevertheless, a masterpiece of design using far fewer parts than anything in its class and it quickly earned Wozniak a reputation as a master designer.
